BBC NEWS | Americas | UN finds global inequality rising

A UN report has found that the world is more unequal today than it was 10 years ago, despite considerable economic growth in many regions.

Sad to think that with all the progress this world is making, it still doesn’t manage to quite include everyone. Or a lot of times to even TRY to include everyone. It sometimes makes me sick how much “policy” is geared only towards self-interest. I’m not educated enough in the theories behind political policymaking, but I know at least on the gut level it seems wrong to me to only worry about our nation’s best interest. For example, when we talk about helping out poor under-developed poor nations, it’s not really because we feel bad, it’s because we don’t want them to turn into “festering bastions of terrorism”.
