WOAH!
Just checked my adsense account… Note that I started it mostly on a whim… :

(yes, that’s a lot of money when you consider I never really expected to earn any…)
Goddamn, I use a lot of ellipses…!
OH, and notice now the ads are finally learning to be relevant!
Here are some interesting links/news-bits I noticed while checking the recent (month’s) headlines from the NYT and the Washington Post…
Oh, and I will eventually be upgrading to WordPress 2 (2.1), but I think I’ll probably do a reformat and reinstall OSX Tiger and Ubuntu linux (dual-boot!!!) first. Right now my 60 gig internal harddrive has a 20 gig OSX partition, two useless 900 meg partitions that are mac formatted but just sit around useless on my desktop (originally was going to be mapped as my /home directory under linux, or even osx… or something) and then a 10 or so gig Ext2 (linux) partition that has been lost into the abyss of partition-land and some random remaining unformatted free space (that disk utility won’t let me format… ugh… not willing to pay for expensive dynamic repartitioning software, and my conscience has been acting up again so no pirating!).
AAAND… this blog managed to eat up almost ALL of my monthly bandwidth during January (this site is amazingly hosted for free at http://www.buildtolearn.net the best free web host, NO ADS no BULLSHIT! you just have to participate in the community-forums!) So since time doesn’t allow me to participate sufficiently in the forums to earn a bandwidth upgrade, I need to start looking for a paid webhost! I’ve searched in the past but I always end up completely overwhelmed by the myriad options… but i’d love any suggestions…!
Anyways, onto the links…
p.s. still slightly unsure about using this textpad markup… worried about switching away from it and losing all my old links… but will stick with it for now out of convenience… shouldn’t make any difference to you anyways!!

Just ordered a bunch of stuff from Sweetwater, so exciting! For use with my new keyboard of course…
Edirol UM-1EX 39.97
Hosa YPP136 4.25
Hosa GPM-103 1.90
Hosa GPR-101 2.40
First item is a USB MIDI interface, the other three are various connectors and adapters for hooking up the audio jacks of the keyboard (1/4″ TS x2) to my computer’s Line In (1/8″ Stereo TRS, Powerbook G4). And a few adapters for 1/4″ TS to RCA just in case. Oh, and I threw in a 1/8″ TRS (F) to 1/4″ TRS (M) adapter just in case I loose the one I have, it seemed cheap….
Anyways, here are a bunch of more fantasy things I’d love to have from this wonderful store, posted here because their website doesn’t have a permanent wishlist — it forgets everything!
(Don’t buy me any of this without asking first…)
Also, a few words on the software… note that 99% of this I either have already downloaded, or could download if I wanted in pirated form– but I still will purchase when/if I am ever inclined to really use it (ie. not just use it to screw around). I rationalize this by saying that were such copies not available, I still wouldn’t be shelling out the big bucks just to play with the stuff, I’d just be without the software entirely — and the chances of me buying it when/if I had the disposable income would then be much less… I digress.

So I’m looking for keyboard tabs (metal) all over the net, only to find that the ONE metal “synth” site no longer exists ANYwhere!
I think, the first incarnation, can be found advertised on some older tabs: http://synthoblivion.cjb.net/
eventually became http://www.synthoblivion.net/
which I think redirected to: http://www.jeka.org/oblivion/
“here”:http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&lr=&rls=RNWE%2CRNWE%3A2005-01%2CRNWE%3Aen&q=site%3Awww.jeka.org%2Foblivion%2F is the google list of cached pages, rather sad really…
Please let me know if you know anything about this! Or if you know of other good places to find metal tabs (it says they had HAGGARD tabs!!! I want them!!!!!) (and no, taborama et al. do NOT count)
EditUPDATE!!! I used google’s cache to find the haggard tab!!
See the cache “here”:http://64.233.167.104/search?q=cache:XVtkpkKhDnkJ:jeka.org/oblivion/index.php%3Ftab%3Dhaggard-awaking_the_centuries.txt+&hl=en
I used the following google searches, which should be useful for anyone trying to get content from a site that is now dead, but was around long enough for google to index it (and I assume google will toss the index after a period of time, so that’s another factor, that it only died recently… but some of those caches are old, from March or July…) anyways:
GOOGLE DIGGGGGGGING
site to dig:http://jeka.org/oblivion
- [Google]_www.jeka.org/oblivion/
- then looked at cache, copied link for haggard tabs…
- [Google]_http://jeka.org/oblivion/tabs_haggard.shtml
- look at cache, google the link to the tab file itself…
- [Google]_http://jeka.org/oblivion/index.php?tab=haggard-awaking_the_centuries.txt
- And of course get the cache for that, which is the file we want: hooray!
That’s all for now…

So here is an entry I posted to my journal at DeviantArt (where I post all my photography).

Well, I finally have my work situation all worked (no pun int.) out. I’m splittling my time between some paid work for the healthcare campaign where I helped out last summer ([link]) which is a great group of people, and a domestic violence center ([link]) which is un-paid volunteer work. I’m only working 4 days a week, and since it’s volunteer work the hours are really flexible.
And this way even if I end up doing boring work, it’ll be an assortment, and the work will really be for a cause that is concrete –not to mention urgent– which makes it much easier to tolerate. And that isn’t to say the work is boring at all! In fact, so far it’s been pretty interesting!
So here on DA I’ve passed the 4000 page view mark… wow. Incredible! I must say despite all my grumblings, it does feel great to see that number just keep climbing up… And I saw a definite response to my latest strategy of mixing up my commenting. Rather than spend so much time commenting on work on my watch list, which is either by famous deviants who are too busy to bother looking… well, mabe it’s more just how pressured I feel to comment on everything on my watch list, so i end up just skipping it all, or erasing it.
So anyways, I figure a few carefully written and thoughout comments, even if the artist doesn’t comment me back, will draw others’ attention. And random posting helps too, though it doesn’t get me any useful critique…
and then of course is a fantastic resource, despite it’s apparent lack of administrative support at the moment (wish I could help them, but I’d surely go insane… that is, if I was even qualified, which I’m not hehe).
So I’ve written enough for now,
time for me to get some sleeeep
OH! And I made APPLE SORBET tonight!!! Pretty damn good…
Maybe I’ll post the recipe?
Would anyone be interested?
